AURORA MEDICAL VETERANS PROGRAM
Dedicated to Veteran health
We’re honoured to be the medical cannabis provider of choice for thousands of Veterans across Canada. Our goal is to make it easy and affordable for you to access the products, support and services you need.
Extra savings for Veterans
Basic VAC reimbursement
Aurora Medical honours the basic reimbursement provided by VAC via Blue Cross for dried cannabis and its equivalent in other forms. This benefit reduces the price to $8.50 per gram. You can choose express shipping or same-day shipping (if available where you live) at no out-of-pocket expense.
Extended Veteran support
We will also price-adjust eligible products to $8.50/gram if you need to order more than your VAC/Blue Cross policy covers. For example, if your coverage is for 3 g/day but you need 5g/day, we will charge the eligible additional products at $8.50/gram.
As a Veteran, you are entitled to up to $400 of VAC coverage to purchase a vaporizer every three years. We can help you choose an appropriate vaporizer and are happy to assist with the reimbursement process.
Active service member discounts
We offer a 25% discount to members of the Canadian Armed Forces who are currently serving or who have been released from service but don’t yet have Veterans’ coverage. All you need is proof of service. To apply, email your documentation as an attachment to registration@auroramedical.com or send by fax to 403-637-3121. Include your full name in the subject line of your email. Please note that discount programs cannot be combined.
Veterans’ spousal discounts
We're pleased to provide a 25% discount to the spouses of Veterans who are registered with Aurora Medical and live at the same home address. Contact our Client Care team for more information. Call 1-877-928-7672 or chat anytime between 9AM and 7PM EST, Monday to Friday, or email askus@auroramedical.com.
How to apply for VAC coverage
To qualify, make sure you have the following handy:
- Your K number (found on your VAC Health Care Identification Card). This can be submitted when you register online or by phone/email to our Client Care team.
- Your official decision letter or Summary of Assessment on your release from service as well as a medical document containing your diagnosis that confirms your awarded condition. Each time your healthcare provider submits a new medical document, you will need to renew your coverage.
Once you have submitted the above information, VAC coverage usually takes between 4 to 6 weeks to process.
